- Charles Frederick Renschler, 92 years old of North Manchester, IN, died Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the Peabody Retirement Community.
He was born Tuesday, September 14, 1915 in Madison, IN, Son of the late Charles and Nell (Kelly) Renschler.
He served as a navigator and was a second lieutenant in the Army Air corps from 1942-1945
He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Louisville KY and he graduated from Indiana University in 1940 with a bachelor's degree in business chemistry.
He retired as a Purchasing Agent for Seagram's Distillery, Louisville, KY after 39 years.
Surviving are his loving wife, Jean Grubb King of North Manchester, IN; son, William C. Renschler of Cincinnati, OH; 2 daughters, Linda Renschler of Lawrenceburg, KY, Jane (David) Richards of Vicksburg, MS; stepson, James Grubb of Salem, OR; 2 stepdaughters, Sally (Ryan) Williams of Charlotte, NC and Marsha (Gary) Groninger of Olathe, KS; and 4 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Mary Alice Gehring Renschler.
Visitation will be 10am-11am, Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 11:00am with Father Joseph Feltz officiating.
Interment will follow in the Greendale Cemetery, Greendale, IN 47025.
