  Funeral services for Mr. Marcus L. Johnson, 84, will be held at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from the chapel of Capps Funeral Home. The Reverend Freddie Rodrique will officiate. Mr. Johnson, a resident of Tylertown, died at his residence on Friday, October 31, 2014. He was born September 19, 1930 in Walthall County, Mississippi the son of the late Alvis Ellis and Emily Leota Wood Johnson. He was retired from the United States Postal Service and had also been a dairy farmer. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Army. Mr. Johnson was a member of Calvary Baptist and also served on the Board of the Lexie Water Association. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Joan Ann Serpas Johnson of Tylertown. One son, Tim Mark Johnson of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Two daughters: Dianne and husband, Paul, Wilson of Tylertown; and Patricia Ann and husband, Lynn, Taylor of Gloster, Mississippi. One sister, Kathleen Singleton of Denham Springs, Louisiana. 4 Grandchildren; and 4 Great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be: Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Wood and Sidney Singley. Burial will be in the Wood Cemetery. Visitation on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 5 till 8 P.M. at Capps Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 9 till service time at 10.
