  Crossville Chronicle March 23, 1939 Funeral services for M F Hargitt, 82, who died at his home in Westel Friday, March 17, were held at the cemetery at Westel Sunday at 2 p.m.. Mr Hargitt had been postmaster at Westel for 16 years and kept a small store there for many years. He was a native of Indiana. He is survived by a son who resides in Virginia and 2 granddaughters, Mrs G Elliott and Josephine Hargitt of Rockwood.
