- Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home for Mrs. Charles Rushing Hudgins, 82, of Petal, who died Wednesday, October 27 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
Dr. David Grumbach and Rev. Wendell Frazier of Petal Harvey Baptist Church, where she was a member, will officiate.
Visitation will be at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home, Hattiesburg, Sunday, October 31st from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Mrs. Hudgins was born in Lawrence Co. MS and moved to Hattiesburg at an early age. She was married to Robert J. Hudgins. She was a retired nurse-sitter and a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; Henry H. and Zelga Tullos Rushing; and a daughter, Emma Lou Smith; a grandson, Thomas J. Coughlin; and four sisters, Ottie Smith, Lottie Cutrer, Idell Trest and Ruby Cutrer; and five brothers, Dewey Rushing, John Rushing, A.D. Rushing, Hebron Rushing and Elmer Rushing.
She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Parker of Petal, Bobbie Jean Taylor of Gautier, MS; three grandchildren, Jo Ann Fountain of Biloxi, Ha Zan Taylor Ogden of Dallas, TX, and Charlotte Samanthia "Sam" Taylor of Biloxi and four great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association or to a favorite charity.
