  Thelma Sims Andrews, 87 DEATHS Advocate, The (Baton Rouge, LA) - Monday, December 4, 1995 Died 1 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 1995, at her residence in Baton Rouge. She was 87, a resident of Baton Rouge since 1912 and a native of Port Allen. She worked with youth programs for First Baptist Church and the Judson Association throughout her life. Visiting was held at Welsh Funeral Home, 6700 Florida Blvd., 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at the funeral home 8:30 a.m. until religious services in the chapel at 11 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Kelly Fitzgerald. Entombment in Greenoaks Lakeside Mausoleum. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lowry B. and Sidney J. Lacy Jr., Baton Rouge; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Dalton F. Sims Sr., Mrs. Jane Weaver and Mrs. Charles Andres; a brother-in-law, Oran O'Neil Andrews; three grandchildren,Sidney J. Lacy III, Timothy Michael and Charmaine Marie Lacy; five great-grandchildren, Beth Ann Walsh, John Caldwell Lacy, Kathleen Amelie Lacy, Shea Joshua Lacy and Malaika Leigh Lacy; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Lucius J. Andrews; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis M. Sims; a sister, Arta Sims Sheldon; and four brothers, Claude, Sitman, Samuel and Dalton Sims. Pallbearers will be John, Tim and Caldwell Lacy, D.F. Sims, Eric Halpern and Eric Crake. Honorary pallbearers are Dr.Robert St. Amant, Dr. Dalton Oliver, Dr. Vic Oliver and Robert "Bobby" Duncan. She was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church. Memorial donations may be made to the Broadmoor Baptist Church youth programs.
