  Bangor - Marie J. Jock, 76, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday (August 5, 2015). A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday at 1pm (August 10, 2015) at St. Augustine ’s Church, North Bangor . Interment will commence with in the parish cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the Flint Funeral Home, Moira Monday from 10:00 am - 12:15 pm. A prayer services will be held at 12:15 prior to her Funeral Mass. Marie was born on March 20, 1939 in Buffalo , NY the daughter of James Vincent & Marietta (Taibbia) Guercio, and was educated locally at Lewiston Porter High School . November 11, 1961 she fell in love and married Robert J. Jock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brushton. Marie was known for her sewing dresses, dolls, crafts, and artful creations. Although Marie worked in various places and volunteered throughout the community, her greatest achievement and love was creating a home for her family. 1980 Marie served on the board of elections, she was the treasurer for the Bangor Democratic Committee, an auxiliary member of the North Bangor Vol. Fire Department, Representative for the Senior Citizens for Bangor, NY, and was the 1993 recipient of the Senior Regent Cap and Gown Moose Lodge Chapter 285. For six years, she volunteered her time as a senior companion. Special memories will be forever in the hearts of her husband Robert, children Joel (Sheila) Jock of Virginia, Cheryl Harrington, of Syracuse , Jeffrey (Ruth) Jock of North Bangor, and Robert Jock and his companion Shirley of Brushton. Also surviving her are her eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A brother, Joseph, and sister-in-law Marta Guercio of California survive her. Besides her parents, her brother Anthony Guercio who entered into rest Sept. 1, 2001 predeceases her. Memorial Contributions in Marie’s honor may be made to the Bangor Vol. Fire and EMS, 2367 US-11, North Bangor , NY 12966 .
