  Born in Rohrbach, Sinsheim, Heidelberg, Baden, Germany to Johann Leonhard Pfenninger and Maria Barbara Trautman. Arrived in Rochester, NY about 1847. Was a pioneer settler in West Webster, NY and family lived in a log cabin there on an 1855 census. He was later followed to Rochester by his brother, Georg Baltasar Pfenninger, and a sister, Kathrina Susanna Pfenninger, who married Johann Michael Schuhmacher in Rohrbach. They were given the name Shoemaker. Unknown newspaper from a private collection: Daniel Pfeninger died Thursday at his home, northwest of the village of Fairport. He is survived by a brother, George, of Rochester, and five children, Charles of Fairport; Daniel,of West Webster; Mrs. William Roper (Roeper) of Pearl Creek; Mrs. William Meyer of Rochester, and Mrs. John Lusink of Union Hill, N.Y.
