- Mrs. Frank Boyd Passed Away On Saturday. Feb. 28
Mrs. Frank R. Boyd, 79, passed away Saturday, February 28, in Cedar Valley hospital at Charles City.
Mrs. Boyd was taken ill early in the winter with flu and had not been well since. During the week before her death, Cardiac trouble developed and on Tuesday, March 24, she was taken to the hospital.
Ollie M. Vosseller, daughter of Nelson and Emma Vosseller, was born September 25, 1873, near Plainfield. She was married to Frank R. Boyd, March 4, 1896. They spent their entire married life in the vicinity of Horton and Plainfield.
She leaves her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Buck, Davenport, Iowa, and Mrs. Ruth Diekmann, Plainfield; three grandchildren and one great-grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Della M. Taylor, Plainfield, and Mrs. Jessie Stanley, Charles City. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, a son and a granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist church in Plainfield, Rev. Lane having charge of the service with Rev. Hilding Lind assisting.
Calvin Kelly, with Joan Vosseller as accompanist, sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "No Night There".
Casket bearers were George Wedeking, Howard Roach, H. C. Stevens, Harley Deitz, Harold Youmans and Clarence Storing.
In charge of the flowers were Mrs. W. DeLavergue, Mrs. Gertrude Dietz and Mrs. Maxine Lindner.
Burial was made in the Willow Lawn cemetery, Plainfield.
Those from away who came for the funeral were: Mrs. Ella McDonald of Long Beach, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Koob, Oelwein; Mrs. Harvey Matthiesen, Cincinnati, Ohio; Mrs. Lucille Buck and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Buck and Bobby, all of Davenport and Miss Hazel Boyd of Minneapolis, Minn.
