  • Notes
    • Flanagan Mortuary records indicate that George Lucas died on January 7, 1916 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS, at the age of 56 years. Cause of death was pneumonia.

George lived at 1053 N. Washington in Wichita with his wife, Minnie D. Lucas and his occupation was "day laborer."

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. on January 8, 1916 at the Cartwright Cemetery. W. Lucas and Fred Bell ordered the services and they were charged to Will Lucas, Clearwater, KS.

W.J. Lucas purchased what is now Section 7, Lot 504, Space 1. Cemetery records only indicate that this was in 1916 or 1917.

The edge of the tombstone in the photo is that of S. Bert Tucker, who is in Section 7, Lot 503, Space 6. The next space to the right of that tombstone would be Section 7, Lot 504, Space 1.
