| Notes |
- Joseph went missing from the Bath Veterans on Jan. 10 1935. He appears to have been involved in a fatal train crash. This theory was strengthened when part of his coat was identified at the RR trestle and later his body was found left by receding water on the bank of the River.
Latter reports suggest he went missing a month before the reported date and his death could have been earlier.
He was survived by his mother Mrs. Alida Blum with whom he lived at 20 Roseland Street; four brothers, Norman A., Louis J. George N. and Bernard P. Blum, and three sisters, Mrs. Andrew Merkel, Mrs. Joseph Beiber and Mrs. Roy Benson.
Mr. Blum fought at Chateau Thierry, in the Marne and St. Michiel offensives, and at Asine. He went to Europe Apr 7 1918 and returned in August, 1919. He was a signal runner in the 38th Infantry.
The service were held at Our Lady of Good Council on Brooks Avenue, with military honors.
