  Doris Lucille Blasdell Sackett, 90, of Dillsboro, IN, formally of Rising Sun, passed away at 11:30 AM, Wednesday, March 16th, at The Waters of Dillsboro/ Ross Manor, Dillsboro, IN. Doris was born in Bright, IN on October 9, 1920, a daughter of the late Flora Inez (Grubbs) and Charles D. Blasdell. She was a graduate of Bright High School, Class of 1938. On June 28, 1939 she married Loren Cecil Sackett, who preceded her in death. Doris was a homemaker and worked along side her husband on their farm. She was a member of the Salem Hilltoppers Homemakers Club, RSVP and founded the "Kitchen Band" which still entertains at area care centers and for other groups. Doris was a member of the Rising Sun Church of Christ and formally attended Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ. Doris is survived by two daughters, Peggy Lucille Day, of Versailles, IN; Barbara Ellen, wife of Raymond Roberts, of The Villages, FL; by grandchildren, Robert Douglas Walston (Myra) of Rising Sun, IN; Bethany Lynn Chapmen (Terry) of Rising Sun, IN; Rebecca Lee Couch (Tim) of North Vernon, IN; David Cecil Walston of Versailles, IN; Raymond Gregory Roberts (Margeen) of Perry, GA; Laura Lee Trice (Gary) of Beavercreek, OH; Darrrel Day of Indianapolis, IN; Sandra Howard (Gale) of Versailles, IN; Dennis Day (Stefany) of Lebanon, IN She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and by 11 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Loren, brother, Ellisworth Blasdell, sister, Ruth Irene Guard and by her son-in-law, Joe Day. Funeral Service at Markland Funeral Home, Rising Sun, IN, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 19th, with Br. Greg Matthew officiating. Friends are invited to call Friday 5-8 PM. at Markland Funeral Home.
