  originally buried at Old Catholic Cemetery; see http://www.clarksonny.org/pdf/history/Burials-Catholic-Cemetery.pdf (Mt. Olivet Cemetery did not open until the early 1890s) James was a farmer in the Parma area. His death at age 46 years old was noted in Church of the Nativity death records, Brockport Republic, and 1875 state census. His wife Mary Owens and brother-in-law John Owens were the executors of his estate per the terms of his Will. Census records indicate he was born in Canada of Irish descent, perhaps in Nova Scotia. Nothing more is currently known about him prior to his marriage to Mary Owens in 1852 at Church of the Nativity.
