      Denver - Alto B. Boyce, 75, of rural Denver, died Sunday, March 24, at Covenant Medical Center at West Ninth Street, Waterloo, of natural causes; survivors include his wife, Barbara; three sons, Larry L. of Denver, William A. of Bahama, N.C., and Kenneth A. of Franklinton, N.C.; a daughter, Barbara Mae Shepard of Shell Rock; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and four brothers, Charles of Yakima, Wash., Frank of Cedar Falls, Rev. Fred Boyce of Estherville and Melvin J. of Waterloo; he was preceded in death by a brother, Arden; and a grandson; services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Maxfield, with burial in the church cemetery; friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Schumacher Funeral Home, Denver, and for an hour before services at the church Thursday; memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church, Maxfield; Mr. Boyce was employed in the canning department of Rath Packing Co., Waterloo, for 23 years, retiring in 1978; he was custodian of St John's Lutheran Church, Maxfield, from 1952-67.
