    • The Hilton Record 12/2/1954: Charles E. Straub, 69, operator of the old Webster Furniture Company and of a hardware store in Hilton, died Wednesday, November 24th at Strong Memorial Hospital following an illness of six weeks. A native of Greece, he resided with his wife, Emma, at 76 Cook Street at the time of his death. He started work as an employee of the Barnard and Simonds Company, Rochester furniture manufacturers and later formed the Webster Furniture Company, which he sold in 1932. Subsequently, he operated a hardware store in Hilton under his name for 14 years, selling the establishment five years ago to return to work with Barnard and Simonds. He was a member of Valley Lodge, F. & A.M. and the Men's Class of Salem Evangelical Church, Rochester. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Merrill C. Straub; and two sisters, Dora Hilenbrant of Rochster and Albina Straub, Evanston, Illinois. Funeral Services were held Monday afternoon at the Holla-Leary Funeral Home, 1256 Mt. Hope Avenue, the Reverend William Smith of Salem Evangelical Church officiating. Burial is in White Haven Memorial Park
