- Deloris May Kerns (Tozer, Tozer-Sernett) was born August 14, 1924 in Oelwein, Iowa, to Silvia May Kerns (Menuey) and Loraine Anthony Kerns. She married Glenn Walter Tozer in September 1947. Deloris and Glenn had two sons, Mark Alan (April 1952) and Kirk Aaron (September 1954). Mark passed away in 1976.
Deloris and Glenn retired and moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1979 where they enjoyed golf, neighbors, friends, and activities at the Methodist Church in Bella Vista. Glenn passed away in July of 1983.
Deloris married Edward Charles Sernett (Chuck) in December 1985. The family was comprised of three daughters Sandy, Ann and Cathy, and one son Kirk.
Deloris was a long time quilter, knitter and seamstress. She belonged to the following local activity groups: Bella Vista Homesteaders Extension Club, Quilt Guild, Calico Cutups, local knitting group, United Methodist Women-Naomi Circle, Sunrise Shepherd Group, and NARFE. She was known for her baby quilts that annually won first prize at the Benton County Fair. She was an avid supporter of local causes within Benton County and Bella Vista.
Deloris is survived by a son, three daughters, 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be at 9 a.m. with memorial services to follow at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 8th at First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, Arkansas with Rev. Brenda Wideman officiating. Burial will be at Bentonville Cemetery.
