• Notes

  George was a tailor in Rochester, N.Y. He immigrated from Germany about 1846. Most of his sons, August, Henry, Joseph and Philip were in the tailoring business. One of his sons, John M. Klinger (Klingler) became a physician and moved to Ohio and then to Virginia. George married Mary Magdelena "May" Keidel in Rochester in 1847 in a Catholic ceremony. The Klinglers had one daughter, Mary, who was also in the tailoring business. Son, August immigrated with his father from Germany.
