      Sentence of Theodore Whitney, 18, of 236 Oxford, charged with theft of an $800 car from C. Thomas Abate, 1394 Titus Ave., Sept. 10, was deferred because of illness. He was taken to the County Hospital this morning with an attack of appendicitis.

      Man Awaiting Sentence Dies

      The case of Theodore Whitney, 18, of 286 Oxford, today was marked Closed.

      He died yesterday at Strong Memorial Hospital on the day he was to have been sentenced on a charge of first degree grand larceny in taking an $800 car from C. Thomas Abate 1894 Titus Ave., Sept. 10. He pleaded guilty Sept, 20 before County Judge H. Douglass Van Duser.

      Whitney became ill and was taken to the County Hospital yesterday morning and was transferred later to the Strong Memorial.
