| Notes |
- Abram Boone served on the Eastman School of Music string faculty as a senior instructor of violin and viola for 26 years. After earning a bachelor of music degree from the School in 1929, he worked for Bausch & Lomb in Rochester during World War II and began his Eastman teaching career in 1947. In addition to his teaching duties, he was assistant concertmaster of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, concertmaster of the Lake Placid Sinfonietta, and frequently performed in the Rochester community as violin soloist. He was well known by friends, family, students, and colleagues for a love of nature and astronomy that equaled his love of music. (biography taken from The Cominsky Promenade Portrait Gallery, Eastman School of Music, Rochester, NY.)
