  • Notes
    • Catherine's parents were Ezekiel and Sally/Sallie (Blasdel) Harper. Following Ezekiel's death, Sally married Leonard Chase in 1834; Leonard and Sally are buried in Cambridge Cemetery, Dearborn County, IN. The burial place for Ezekiel Harper is not known to this contributor. Ezekiel and Sally had three children: (1) Catherine who is the subject of this entry; (2) Ruth Morse Harper (1821-1891) who married Stephen Augustus Bundy in 1845; and (3) Joseph Morrill Harper (1823-1908) who married first Jane Ann Smith in 1845 and then married Mary Virginia Patten in 1877. Leonard Chase and Sally Blasdel Harper Chase had two children: (1) Jacob Blasdel Chase (1836-1898) who married Eleanor Chase Blasdel (a child of Isaac Newton and Mary [Sutton] Blasdel) in 1858; and (2) Sarah Blasdel Chase (1838-1924) who married William Henry Curtis in 1859. The birth and death dates from Catherine were obtained from cemetery inscriptions contained in Family History Center Microfilm No. 1313475, Item 4. Other family history was obtained from The Blaisdell Papers, Vol. 10, No. 5 (June 1983), page 47, a publication of the Blaisdell Family National Association (BFNA). Catherine's name also appears as one of 101 names on the granite monument erected by the BFNA at the Cambridge Cemetery.
