  In 1835 Reliance Chase married Sherwood Morse Blasdel in Dearborn County, IN; she was his first wife and, following her death in 1837, in 1838 Sherwood Morse Blasdel married Reliance's sister, Louisa Chase. It is not known whether Sherwood and Reliance had any children. Sherwood Morse Blasdel was the son of Enoch and Susannah (Ferris) Blasdel.
