  • Notes
    • Dorothy Irvena Busker, age 93, passed away on February 3, 2013 at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena, with her children at her side.

Dorothy was born on May 8, 1919 in Echo, Minnesota to William and Minnie (Preuss) Macklanburg where she grew up on the family farm and met her husband, Anton Henry "Tony" Busker. They were married on February 11, 1935, in Otter Tail County, MN. Dorothy and her family moved to Wadena in 1945. As a long time resident she was very active in her church, St. John Lutheran, participating in the Women's Guild and LWML and assisted the pastor serving communion once a month for 21 years at Fair Oaks Lodge. Dorothy was able, with a quiet manner, to listen to those in need and comfort and console them. She was a true caregiver, always there to assist those in need. She was an inspiration to her family and friends as exemplified by her strong Christian faith.

Dorothy enjoyed bowling, helping others, entertaining, and cooking for family and friends. Members of the community may remember her as an employee at the Rexall Drug Store and the Red Owl Store.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony in 1991; parents William and Minnie Macklanburg; sisters, Alvira Helmrichs, Aleda Hannebuth Monson, Beatrice Busker, Leona Newell; and brother, Herbert Macklanburg, daughter-in-law Marlys Busker; and son-in-law William Burns.
