- His obituary appears in the July 14, 1898 Lawrenceburg (IN) Press edition, and is quoted in its entirety, as follows: "Ferris Blasdel, one of the old pioneer settlers of this neighborhood, died at his home on Mt. Pleasant Ridge, Friday and was buried at Pella on Sunday. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. C. Watkins." (contributed by F.A.G. member, D. Nowlin)
