    • George B. Hoagland, retired letter carrier, of 64 Hamilton Ave., died today in Mercy Hospital after a short illness.

      Born in the Town of Venice he had resided in Auburn for 29 years and the Town of Sennet for 30 years. He was a mail carrier for 35 years, retiring in 1935. Mr. Hoagland was a member ot St. Peter's Episcopal Church. He was a 55-year member of Auburn Lodge 244 IOOF and Central Rebekah Lodge 305 IOOF: a charter member of GLF, a life member of the Holstein-Friesian Association and the mail carriers association and a member of the Farm Bureau for 30 years.

      Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ruth Cuykendall Hoagland: a daughter, Mrs. Max A. Coggeshall; three sons, Harold B. Hoagland, Robert G. Hoagland of Adams, and Charles M. Hoagland of Trumansburg; also 10 grandchildren.

      Services will be st 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Langham Funeral Home. The Rev. James E. Mahagan, rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, and the Rev. Edward J. Simpson, pastor of Calvary Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Owaseo Rural Cemetery.

      Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Odd Fellow services will be conducted at 7:15 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home by Auburn Lodge.
