- Victor K. Lamont, Sr., 90, of Hopkinton, died early Friday morning, December 4, 1998 at the Delaware County Memorial Hospital, Manchester, following a brief illness.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M. Monday morning, December 7, 1998 at the United Presbyterian Church, Hopkinton, with Rev. Tom Shinkle officiating. Services were held at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Hopkinton on Sunday, December 6.
Victor Kenny Lamont was born December 14, 1907 at Gilman, Iowa, the son of Mose and Mary Kenny Lamont. He received his early education in the Joseph school east of Hopkinton and later attended the Hopkinton High School.
Victor K Lamont and Pauline Berlin were married at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, on August 24, 1939. The couple farmed in the Hopkinton and Monticello areas. She proceeded him in death on April 23, 1974.
On October 12, 1975 he married Emma Gieken Reuter Caspers Schovel at St. Johns Lutheran church, Monticello. The couple later divorced.
Victor was an active member of the Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and the El Kahir Shrine.
Surviving are a son, Victor, Jr., and his wife Jan, Hopkinton; a sister Lillian Gearhart, Hopkinton; three grandchildren: Amy Lamont, Curtis Lamont and Alexandra (David) Hawkins; a great-grandson, Wyatt Hawkins.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his first wife; and a brother Forest.
Goettsch Funeral home, Hopkinton, was in charge of the arrangements.
