Lillian A. Gearhart, age 91, of Hopkinton died Monday evening February 7, 2005 at St. Lukes Hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 11:00 Friday morning, February 11, 2005 at the First Presbyterian Church, Monticello, with interment in the Hopkinton Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 Thursday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Hopkinton. Rev. Marti Montovani will officiate at the services. Thoughts, Memories, and Condolences may be left for the family at www.goettschonline.com. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Camp Courageous of Iowa or Hopkinton Senior Dinning. Surviving are her son, Charles (Marianne) Gearhart of Fairfax Station, Virginia and her daughter, Mary Lou (Gene) Wallin of Houston, Texas; nine Grandchildren and ten Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald, one son, Donald Lyle in 2000, and two brothers, Victor and Forest. Lillian Agnes Lamont was born March 15, 1913 in Buffalo Center, Iowa. She was the daughter of Moses and Mary Kenny Lamont. She received her education in the Hopkinton Schools graduating with the Class of 1931. Lillian then attended Lenox College in Hopkinton where she received her Normal Teaching Certificate in 1933. Lillian then helped farm the family farm. Lillian A. Lamont and Donald Gearhart were married February 21, 1940 at the Lamont Family Home. The couple farmed Southeast of Hopkinton. Donald preceded her in death on February 17, 1974. Lillian was a life long and active member of the United Presbyterian Church. She was the 2nd woman Deacon and Elder in the congregation and an active volunteer throughout the community. Her quiet caring manor will be greatly missed.
