- Luna was born in Anderson Co, TX to Preston I. and Francis Louisa Pierson Curry. Her father is buried in Starr Cemetery, and her mother is buried in Myrtle Springs Cemetery. She married Johnny Parks Estes 6 May 1929. Their son, Howard Eugene Estes Sr., is also buried in Garden of Memories.

FUNERAL TUESDAY FOR MRS. ESTES
Funeral services for Mrs. Johnny P. Estes, 52, of Rt. 1, Elkhart, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Elkhart Baptist Church. Rev. U. Van Sickle, Rev. C. R. Crim, Rev. Collin Furr and Rev. John Kosier will officiate and burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Elkhart.
Mrs. Estes was born in Elkhart on December 16, 1908, and spent her entire life there. A member of the Elkhart Baptist Church, she died early Sunday in Houston following an illness of several months.
Pallbearers will be J. B. Parker, Benton Knott, Joe McDowell, Turner Jones, Clayton Parker and Calvin Durnell.
Survivors are her husband; step-mother, Mrs. Effie Curry of Houston; three sons, Howard, Johnny Lewis and James Dwight Estes, all of Elkhart; two daughters, Mrs. Billie E. Acock and Mrs. Fern E. Moore, both of Houston; five grandchildren; a brother, Willie Curry of Elkhart; four sisters, Mrs. Wilna Lipscomb of Dallas, Mrs. Lula Warren of Elkhart, and Mrs. Velma Mathews and Miss Ruth Curry, both of Houston.
The body will be at Hassell & Foster until carried to the church for services.
