BOGALUSA n Thelma Olivia Thomas Watson, 71, a resident of Bogalusa, died yesterday in her home.

She is survived by her husband, Ray C. Watson of Bogalusa; two daughters, Barbara Snow and husband Allen of Crossville, TN, and Kay Medley and husband Dale of Denham Springs; a son, Ronnie "Doc" Watson and wife Brenda of Bogalusa; two sisters, Pauline T. Lumpkin and husband Paul of Franklinton, and Betty T. Hughes and husband Kermit of Tylertown, MS; two brothers, Marvin Thomas and wife June, and Glen Thomas and wife Susan, all of Franklinton; a sister-in-law, Jean Thomas; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Preceding her in death was her brother, James N. Thomas; and her parents, Alphus and Hattie Thomas.

Visitation will be held at Monroe Street Baptist Church today from 6:30-9 p.m. and will continue at the church tomorrow from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 2 p.m. The Rev. Lloyd Camp will officiate. Interment will follow in the Thomas Cemetery.

BOGALUSA - Ray C. Watson, 76, a resident of Bogalusa, died Sunday, Jan. 8 in Ochsner Foundation Hospital, Jefferson, La. A native of Washington Parish and Bogalusa, he was a member of Monroe Street Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara J. and Allen Snow of Clark Range, Tenn. and C. Kay and Dale Medley of Baton Rouge; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald C. and Brenda Watson of Bogalusa; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtle Lee Watson Miller of Mt. Hermon and Maudine "Susan" Watson Pearson of Oralaska, Tex.; one brother, Frankie Watson of Bogalusa; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Thomas Watson; his parents, Edward William Watson and Minnie Stellar Primes Watson; a sister, Ruby Dean Watson Stanley; and a brother, Lindsy Watson.

Visitation was held yesterday, Jan. 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home and continued today at 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Chad Jenkins will officiate, with interment in the Thomas Cemetery.

Was a pioneer settler in West Webster, NY and family lived in a log cabin there on an 1855 census. He was later followed to Rochester by his brother, Georg Baltasar Pfenninger, and a sister, Kathrina Susanna Pfenninger, who married Johann Michael Schuhmacher in Rohrbach. They were given the name Shoemaker.

Unknown newspaper from a private collection: Daniel Pfeninger died Thursday at his home, northwest of the village of Fairport. He is survived by a brother, George, of Rochester, and five children, Charles of Fairport; Daniel,of West Webster; Mrs. William Roper (Roeper) of Pearl Creek; Mrs. William Meyer of Rochester, and Mrs. John Lusink of Union Hill, N.Y.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Ditmer, Bradford, Mrs. Ruth Crawford, Troy, Charlene and Mary Greer, both of Peru, Ind.; a son, Robert, Colo.; four brothers, Lloyd, Clarence, Roy, and William, all of Bradford; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Stocker Funeral Home here, with the Rev. Wilbur Fether officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.

Red Cross Gray Ladies Leader Dies

Mrs. Bradford D. Hutchinson, 42, of 272 Englewood Avenue, died Saturday evening in Roswell Park Memorial Institute. She entered the Institute as a patient on December 23.
She had served with the Red Cross Gray Ladies at Roswell Park Institute since 1952, the last two years as chairman of the volunteer workers.
Mrs. Hutchinson also was a member of St. Joseph's Church Altar Society and a Den Mother for Brownie Scouts in the University District.
The former Patricia K. Crosby, Mrs. Hutchinson was a life-long Buffalonian and graduate of Bennett High School.
Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Kathleen and Maureen Hutchinson; her parents, Mr and Mrs. Thomas C. Crosby, a sister, Miss Marjorie Crosby, and three brothers, John, Thomas and Hugh Crosby.
Prayers at 9:15 Wednesday in the Denneville Funeral Home, 366 Ontario Street, will precede a mass of requiem at 10 in St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
